Presentation of Research: Analysis of Post-Crisis Measures Following the 2023 Mass Shootings

Re:People / Public Policy Research Centre invites you to the presentation of the study Between Public Health and Security: An Analysis of Post-Crisis Measures Following the 2023 Mass Shootings, which examines the nature and scope of reforms in the areas of arms control and youth safety introduced after the tragic events of May 2023.

The research draws on an analysis of official data, the discourse of state actors, media coverage, as well as a focus group and interviews with representatives of institutions and civil society. Its findings and recommendations focus on six areas: risk governance in arms control, violence prevention in schools, a national programme for youth safety, post-crisis psychosocial support, evaluation of security measures, and democratic oversight.

The presentation will take place on 30 March, from 12:00 to 13:30, at Hotel Zira, Ruzveltova 35, Belgrade.

The study was produced as part of the project Civil Oversight of Arms Control Policy Reform and Security Narratives in Serbia, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Government of Sweden.
