Project description

The proposed project aims to contribute to promoting the NAP 1325 in five local communities in Serbia, through gender-oriented approach in the context of gender-based violence – small arms and light weapons nexus. The field activities in the project will offer important insights into the new methods for advocating for gender-responsive approach in applying NAP 1325 activities at the local level.
The project envisages organization of five round tables at the localities in Serbia, chosen by five criteria: local community where a woman is at at the helm of the police unit; where a woman is a city mayor; where the women are majority in the local parliaments; where the prevalence of GBV is most present; and local community where the local NAP 1325 is implemented. The roundtables will assist in sharing the knowledge and experience related to challenges in implementing NAP 1325 at the local level in different contexts, while also strengthening co-operation with local authorities and local CSOs and media.
Proposed localities are tentatively Kragujevac, Smederevo, Vršac, Kikinda and Niš.
